CMS8 GraySail is excited to be offering the latest and greatest version of OpenCms: OpenCms 8. This fantastic major update flexes OpenCms' already-powerful muscles, implementing numerous new features and enhancements (Drag & drop creation! Content change notifications! Central sharing!), and best of all, it's backward compatible to all prior 7.x versions! So don't worry about a painful upgrade: That's a thing of the past.  All New In Version 8

  • Advanced Direct Edit: Drag & drop page content. This is a huge improvement in user-friendliness! Properties of a page can now be modified directly in the ADE interface along with the option to log out from the menu.
  • Sitemap Editor: Create new pages and rearrange the navigation tree with top-level drag & drop. View the lock status of pages and sub-pages, and handle the lock conflicts right there. There's even an option to go back to the page last viewed in the ADE interface!
  • JPA Support: Java Persistence Architecture support added to the database layer, providing support for 10 additional databases.
  • Content Subscription Engine: Would you like to be notified when important documents have been changed? Can do.
  • Multiple File Upload: The old "Upload Applet" has been replaced with an HTML-based upload dialog to handle multiple files at the same time.
  • Mobile Support: Extended support for the creation of content for your users on the go with the <cms:mobile> tag.
  • More Power in Publishing: The all-new publish dialog supports session-based selection and adding/removing individual resources.
  • <xsd:choice>: The XML content editor now supports <xsd:choice> elements.
  • Sharing: A central "Shared Folder" has been added to make content available to all sites.
  • Graphical User Interface: New GUI components written in the Google Web Toolkit using animated, dynamic HTML.
