Featured Project

subBoxCerra GraySail is pleased to once again partner with the oldest and most established teacher recruitment program in the country:  The Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA).   CERRA sought a complete re-definition of their Web presence and an update to their unique paperless workflow application.  GraySail's re-implementation uses OpenCms to 'wrap' CERRA's Java application, dynamically populate events from their custom calendar system, news aggregation with RSS feed, and on-the-fly site map and navigation population.

Hoke Currie, CEO of GraySail, had this to say about the CERRA launch:
"We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with CERRA on this project.  The new site functions as both an information clearinghouse and an efficient way for CERRA staff to use emerging internet technology to communicate with the students, teachers, and school administrators that they serve."

"The CERRA Web site uses open source software which allows CERRA to easily add or change Web pages or track the status of program applications without a great deal of technology expense. It's a very cost-efficient way to develop a state-of-the-art Web site."

"While many of our Web development clients are businesses outside the Carolinas, it is a pleasure to help build a Web site that is going to have a positive impact on education and teacher career development right here in South Carolina.  It's nice to be doing good, but it's also good business for us as a company recruiting employees in-state."
Operating our business in South Carolina's state capital, GraySail strongly believes in improving the communities where we live and work.   We're committed to involvement with and development for the people and institutions that make the Carolinas a great place to grow a business, and CERRA is an outstanding example.  Every year, CERRA's Teaching Fellows Program provides up to $6,000 per year for college students agreeing to teach in South Carolina for four years after graduation.

Helping to foster South Carolina as a great place to educate our children is just one of many ways GraySail seeks to improve our local and state communities.  Further, we operate several public interest Web sites, offer technical workshops and internships to high school and college students interested the Web and data technology field, and work with the local chamber of commerce and other organizations to advance small business.
